Don't recognize an item on my CC bill...

On 11/27 a charge of $12.22 for "MARKETING DRIVE 877-415-9782 IL" is on my bill... I have no idea what this is.

I called the number and just got a machine with no info. This charge could (and probably is..) be something legit but really I can't remember or think of anything related to a marketing drive.

I can't find anything about this charge, should I call the credit card company,,,?

if you aren't positive you initiated something with them, dispute it with your CC company
 
Disputer I'm typing on right now is going to implode if it displays the word "dispute" one more time.
 
I wouldn't dispute it. I mean, sure, it could be a false charge, but its much more likely you're just too dull to remember correctly.
 
I hate when a company uses a weird name or description for something. I'm like wtf is that? and then i remember oh, it's from company Y for product X. why didn't they just use Company Y for the description?

one thing that threw me off the Hearts of Space streaming audio site that I subscribed to. They used some 3rd party billing thing and it showed up on my statements as the 3rd party's name, not Hearts of Space.
 
I garuntee you the CC charge to your card is fraud because I am the owner of the fax number 877-415-9782. It can't be an honest mistake because I have owned the number for over 10 years. I am also one of the owners of SwitchingGears and we don't even have (or ever have had) a merchant account.

To give you alittle more color I have got over 400 calls asking me to remove the charge. Some of these people had a small charge early on and then had their accounts cleaned out. I have called and talked to as many as I can trying to help all these people from getting cleaned out. In other words, don't just dispute the charge, change the account.
