Don't overestimate 8800GT power requirements...

Just an FYI, I recieved my EVGA 8800GT Superclocked Edition today. So far it's running great, played Crysis for about an hour already. My PSU is a 4-year-old Antec 380w with 24a on the 12v rail. The rest of the rig is in my signature.

So just don't by into the hype that you need 500 watts of seasonic to run these things.

311 watts load. Kind of pushing it. ;P

Anandtech's own review shows peak power usage at 209 watts, and firing squad shows 233 watts. These are sites I know and trust.

If you compare hothardware.com's test bed vs. Anand's test bed you will see that the former uses a quad core QX6850 and a raptor hd whereas the latter uses a dual core X6800 and a seagate hd. That probably makes the difference in energy usage at load.
