Buy one and let us know if it is worth it.

A lot of the electric surfboards are going in the $20k range, so they're really only worth renting for a few hours when you're on vacation.

Unless you have $12k to burn.

And are on the water a lot :D

Looks pretty sweet. Hopefully there's a Chinese knockoff for under a grand soon. Bonus, you'll have quick access to fire suppression.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if my BIL picked one up. He has a lot of disposable income and is into stuff like this. I do wonder if it works well on choppier water because our lake is only serene in early morning and later evening.

I'm kinda intrigued at how that even works. Wonder what the battery life is like, at 12k it better be using some kind of voodoo battery tech that when I get home at the end of the day I can just hook it up to my house and run the whole house off it then feed the rest to the grid. :p

Like waverunners, that would get old very quickly. Like mentioned, that would be cool to do on vacation and rent for like 20 minutes or so.

I remember trying paddle boarding and was like 'this is it?' It was so boring after like 5 minutes and there's nowhere to go or anything to see other than the ocean, that I could see from standing in the water.

Yeah it seems like a rather novelty thing, like it would be cool at first, then the novely kind of wears off. If they were like a grand, maybe not THAT hard to justify if you own a cottage or something, but at 12k there's so much more you could do with that money.
