Want a funny story?

Bought a $10 on sale pair of crap PC speakers (they go on sale about once a month near here). The cashier not only tries to sell me the standard gift card and magazine subscription, but asks if I want to buy a $15 replacement warranty plan for them.

I refuse to shop at that store unless absolutely necessary.

bundling as far as i know was selling 2 things for a single price, if you didn't want one of the items, you couldn't just go and buy that single item.

what i was talking about- the customer isn't forced into buying both, they are free to just get the hardware

BestBuy is not allowed, by law, to take back a product discount when someone returns an extended warranty. In fact, they've been sued by several state AG's for doing so, such as Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

i think everyone should keep in mind though that the sales people are just doing their job, the reason the sales people seem pushy at times is because they get bitched at by the higher ups.

if that sales guy doesn't sell a service plan he has to answer to his manager on why he didn't (like it was the sales guy's choice to begin with , i don't understand management at times) just be blunt, let the guy know you aren't mad at him, but there is also no way in hell that you are going to buy a service plan, even if you get a discount on it or no matter how nice his manager is about it

(although i do agree a service plan is a good thing on some items, but it also depends on who you get it through as well)

Should we stop giving crack dealers problems too, because they're just doing their job?

You see, I just don't have sympathy for the employees pushing this stuff. They choose to work at a place that employs shady tactics to push untangible goods that have a terrible value. By accepting your employment there, you are condoning such practices and thus become part of the problem.

I was a telemarketer for a short period of time. I got my ass chewed REGULARY by the people I was harassing, but not once did I hold it against them. I was a punk kid doing a punk job, and I was treated like a punk kid doing a punk job. When I couldn't take it anymore, I quit.
