The book would have gone through the publisher's spelling and grammer checks. Even if she did mispell something, there are a lot of people that proof read and such before it goes to print.

It's not uncommon for there to be a handful of spelling/grammar mistakes in published books. For example, their/there/they're is one you'll see every so often.

I thought the same thing, but it's British informal for "heavy air" or something like that, so I have to assume she was at least half correct with using it to describe what was happening.

"Site" on page 10 should have been "sight" and there's no anglicanization that would save it. I griped about it in a grammar nazi thread rather than a HP thread.

yeah see exactly...i thought that there were some typos but i always just assumed it was a british way of saying something similar...so i guess i was right...odd word though...fug

I saw at least two in the first chapter or so. It really was distracting.

Yeah, well it's only the first printing. This is not just any book, it might have been rushed in order to satisfy the fans.
