'Don't Kill' Bill for NY Cops....Shoot them in the Leg Instead

I don't see the problem with this bill. Just replace those hard-to-aim handguns with sawed off auto shotguns loaded with 3" magnum buck and there's an excellent chance that a pellet will strike an arm AND a leg. Everybody wins! (Well, maybe not so much the bystanders.)

Sometimes they do.. Supreme court has ruled Cops can shoot unarmed feeling felons in some cases.

I would shoot a felon if he was feeling me up, too.

So instead of killing these people, they will injure them, potentially causing life long debilitating problems and opening themselves, the city and the state up for lawsuits by the criminals...so full of win!!!

They can only hit center mass 17% of the time. I'd be impressed if they actually DID intentionally shoot someone in the arm or leg.

Funny thing about real life situations versus the range, at the range the paper targets tend to sit rather still for ya while you put holes in them. In real life not only is the "target" not standing still but it is also trying to put holes in you.

So true. If I had to empty on somebody I'd be happy if 2-3 hit center mass. That "should" be all it takes. Paper doesn't move and it doesn't shoot back so it's pretty easy to put all of them dead in the center rapid fire. The folks I hear tell the stories of when they had to pull and shoot said you're not really even looking down the sights (all your focus is on the bad guy) and just relying on training/muscle memory and knowing where you need to be by feel.
