I really hope there is a lot more to this story that what is being reported. What I don't understand is why the UK government is not handing the baby over to the Italian social services. Let Italian socials services make the determination as to the fitness of the mother.

Cliffs

Italian woman goes to UK for a training course and has a panic attack.
She is pregnant.
The mother is bipolar.
She was then hospitalized.
Several weeks later she was sedated and given a C-section.
Sent back to Italy without the baby.
The UK government is now putting the baby up for adoption in UK.

Not surprised at all. The baby must be handed back and what they're doing is despicable. This is the failure of big government but also shows how the UK is becoming less free.

Wow... I honestly can't comprehend that decision. I cannot come up with any possible rational explanation for it. And apparently this was done by court order, and therefore supported by the UK judicial system, so it's not just some rogue social services worker.

This is medieval. The UK needs to get its shit together.

There's a reason 1984 was written in England. The place is going to shit at a pretty nice clip now. The proles let it happen because Big Brother gives them their allowance, so they shut up and stare at their screens.

Yeah... I just came out of that exact hospital. This story is dubious to me.

The government of England has become far too powerful and must be cut and reigned in. This isn't the first time something like this has happened and those idiots also took away a child from a mother who was an EDL member.

That sounds fair to me. EDL are nut bags.

Perhaps we should send them some of our redneck survivalists that are prepping for the next revolution. They're going to need them a lot worse and sooner than we will.

Best of interest of the child.

For some reason British CPS decided that leaving a child with a mentally ill semi-single mother(the whole estranged husband living in another country thing) with a recent history of going off her medication and being committed for psychiatric care was not in the best interest of the child

But it wasn't a child until they cut it out of her...

The child should rightly be entitled to the citizenship of its mother. The UK is holding an Italian child hostage.

Gee, I wonder why they decided not to do a vaginal delivery with a woman with recent history of severe panic attacks. I mean child birth is normally such a stress free activity; practically a trip to the spa.

The child should rightly be entitled to the citizenship of its mother. The UK is holding an Italian child hostage.

Because clearly the reason people are so upset is the child might end up British instead of Italian
