Get the XL if price difference is more then $50, SM3.0 is not worth that much and without that the two are pretty much even.

Well, since I said I don't want to upgrade my video card again until Christmas of next year, a good question would be, when should we expect to see multiple SM 3.0 titles? If none at all until late next year, then yes, the X800 XL is the best choice. The only reason I was thinking the GT instead is because I thought we'd be seeing SM 3.0 in a year or so.

Sorry this is dead, but we can touch again on how long you expect this generation to last? Like I mentioned earlier, I've had my 9800 Pro for about 18 months now, and it still performs very well for D3 and HL2 with an OCed 2100+ processor. But new cards and games desiring 512 MB of video memory will be out this year. Think the X800 XL could perform well for as long as my 9800 Pro has?
