Preferably NDP, Liberal or Green. :p It's time for Harper to retire!

As for the US, your election must be coming soon right? Trump for president!

Yeah right. I've had enough Liberal government here in Ontario to last a lifetime. I'm scared to open my hydro bill each month. Getting unaffordable. Already cut back as much as I can. All so some civil servants can get multi-million dollar pay cheques. House insurance just went up too after the gov forced them to artificially cut auto insurance rates. Liberals embody they worst kind of populism. They put on a socialist face but are corrupt and elitist as they come. Public buys it hook, line, and sinker.

Think I'll stick to the status quo. It's not ideal but the other three options will screw this country over big time. I'd rather not make things worse than they already are.

I'm not defending any of the parties because I don't pretend to like any of them, but here is somebody who thinks that a government can be perfect.

Liberals and NDP actually want to only raise taxes for the rich though, but I do agree they want to spend more and that's not right. But I prefer that over Harper's dictatorship. On the other hand maybe they WILL make things worse... it's hard to pick when all the choices are bad.

Personally I'm vouching for Mulcair he seems to actually care, at least on the surface. He kinda does look like he's hiding someone in his basement. :p

You guys vote on Mondays?

Fucking commies...

Yeah I don't get why they don't make it on a weekend.

Employers are suppose to give you up to 3 hours to vote though, so there's that.

I'm actually kinda looking forward to see who wins. I'm also looking forward to stop hearing about it, this campaign has been way too long.

Turbines are good, cancelled gas plants are bad though. :p Liberals are probably just as corrupt so I really hope NDP does come in but it's kinda a pipe dream. People are too stupid. NDP majority would be a huge game changer though. They seem to be the only party that genuinely cares for the people.

Wynne has fucked over Ontario so I'd be worried that it might get worse if the Liberals do come in. The more I think about it, maybe we ARE better off status quo if NDP does not come in. But, I don't want another 4 years of lego hair dictator either.

huh?

We don't even vote for chief dickhead until November, 2016, and yet the primaries for that election suddenly started this past ~May for no fucking reason.

Can't explain that!

Holy crap is it really that far away for the US? I've been hearing about it for even longer than our elections. They sure like to drag that on.

Should be 1 month tops imo. Since during the campaign they arn't really actually working on real politics, they're just working on their campaign. So all issues kinda get put on hold.

Maybe I should vote tomorrow. Local election coming up and I just got my mail-in ballot yesterday. Not many liberals, Democrats, or greens in my neck of the woods though. :(

Yeah the government seems to think Toronto is the only city.

Actually one thing about these renewable energy projects is the savings are never really passed down to the consumer, so they're not so great in that aspect. Great for the environment but not really great for everyone.

I hear hydro rates are going up AGAIN this year. I really need to put up a turbine and solar panels of my own some day... I should save up for that. Downside is we don't get much sun nor constant wind here so not sure if it would even be worthwhile.

what savings?

seriously there are NO savings infact it costs more to make green energy cause we make too much.

we give it away AT A LOSS!

http://www.torontosun.com/2015/08/1...d-200-million-on-exported-electricity-in-june

not to mention the environmental cost.

when the wind turbines can't spin they fire up those gas plants they moved to make up for the electricity the turbines produce.

thats a shit load of hydro carbons in the air.

but being green is worth it right?

Yeah I heard about that, that's all part of the corruption though, there seriously needs to be some MAJOR revamp in the entire company but that's never going to happen. It COULD save money but the politics behind it make it so it does not.

Yes, it is pretty stupid, but it seems to be just a rolling party for candidates I imagine.

The government is stuck not doing a fucking thing, while most candidates are going to royal parties almost non stop for extended lengths of time.

Our tax dollars at work, a big party for corporations and the lobbyists propping up the guys in office.

Is almost impossible to overcome 50 years of that way of running a government, as no one in a government position wants it any differently, and both side just fight for the biggest pieces of Filet Mignon while both benefit.

"Let them eat cake, while we ship jobs overseas"

I think I might have modified that one slightly :p

Federal campaign here was two months and it felt too long.

US Presidential election, the only one people care about, is one year away, it went into full swing 6 months ago. Something like a few billion dollars spent per campaign season between primaries -- the election to see whom to elect -- and actual election?

I was going to vote, but I had to deal with a massive fucking asshole earlier and am completely drained, so I probably won't. My area's solid Liberal or NDP so not a big deal.

The US elections are a complete joke these days, over a year off and just party time for the people running, rather than anyone doing anything at all productive in government.
