Not as cool as a total solar eclipse but still pretty awesome seeing the moon painted red by Rayleigh scattering due to all the sunlight hitting it during the full eclipse being filtered through Earth's atmosphere at a low angle (so it travels through lots of atmosphere) first.

About 8:45, I looked outside, saw the mostly full moon rising in the east and..."HEY! We might actually get to see the lunar eclipse." By 9:30...clouds had moved in...not even a glimmer of the moon.

I will go to my deathbed bitter that San Antonio had to go Washington the date of the only full solar eclipse here in the last 700 years.
