Once you flash that bios you won't be able to flash any other bios version. or so is the case for me. i have bios 2.4 and i've tried flashing both ocer's bioses and ver 2.0 2.1 2.2 and 2.3 all of them get the bios error "BIOS Lock String doesn't match your system"

Damn, that is what I did, went from 2.2 to 2.4 on the turbo. :(
Also, if anyone backed up 2.2, I need to try and flash it back.

I may have a similar problem that seems to have occurred with my KT7 Pro 2 after flashing the 2.2 BIOS. Any other BIOS flash attempt results in an Award flash BIOS program hang - I don't even get an error message. The board still boots fine. In desperation, I even tried the crap Live BIOS only to receive the message: "Your BIOS does not support the autoupdate function" . Lame.

Got E-Mail back from MSI they told me to do the following...

When you flash it try flashing it manually then add /nbl after the filename
<flash Utility> <BIOS file>/nbl

I tried this and it worked perfectly!
Hope this helps :D

mEz is right, the /NBL switch allows you to flash..

Should also be noted that the lock wont keep you from flashing to future upgrades (2.5?) according to MSI.

The use of the /nbl switch doesn't appear to solve my problem however, since the flash prog. just hangs and does not even produce an error message.

OK guys. Im running the stock 1.8 version on a Duron 600@1020MHZ on the same board. Which is the best to flash too? O/C Bios? Version V1.0B16?

Thanks!

I have had the problem when flashing to the 2.2 it will not allow anymore flashes. However I cleared CMOS with the jumper and it finally allowed me to flash. Right now I am running the B16 bios and all is well.
