How can that degenerate still have his license after 5 DUIs? It's just a joke how drinking and driving is treated in this country.

I never knew this was a thing.

Guess it's only in my state.

Just because you take away a drunk driver's license, that doesn't stop them from driving...even confiscating their car doesn't stop them...they just buy another one.

Jail/prison is the only way to stop a drunk driver from driving...or death. (and all too often, they kill someone else and the drunk walks away.)

I'm all for much stricter DUI laws in this country.

1st offense...loss of driving privileges for 1 year, and up to 1 year in jail. (sentence based on BAC level)

2nd offense, MANDATORY 1 year in jail, loss of driving privilege for 5 years.

3rd offense MANDATORY 5 years in prison, lifetime loss of driving privilege.

4th offense, life in prison, no parole.

Should ANY of the offenses result in the death of someone other than the DUI driver, MANDATORY life in prison, no parole.

I personally have no problem with the cops parking outside of bars, taverns, cocktail lounges, sports arenas...and pulling over anyone who even MIGHT be intoxicated.

Get the fucking drunks off the road.

You do realize there are MILLIONS arrested each year for DWI/DUI and less than 15k deaths? Many of the 15k are the drunk driver.

It's not the problem our government wants you to believe it is, however; at about $5k per infraction or more; they are making a killing off it.

Most insurance companies don't even care about first time DWI/DUI offenses.

the only issue i have with DUI is the one size fits all BAC

there are too many variables like people's size and weight, body fat content and simple genetics that make them more or less tolerant of alcohol.

???

.08 - 1.10 for anyone, but the seasoned drinker, is very intoxicated.

Even the seasoned drinker at .08 has motor dysfunction and judgment problems, they just appear to be "lucid"

The % of alcohol in your bloodstream is mainly dependant on how much displacement your body has...the more you have, the more alcohol it takes to get a higher %.

.08 does not make anyone very intoxicated. 1.10 would make them dead. It's clear you don't even know WTF your are talking about.

Even the founder of MADD feels .08 is ridiculous.

Also not everyone is affected by any BAC the same way…whether they drink or not.

The whole drinking and driving thing is a great lobby and revenue / political power generator that the sheep buy into as saving lives.

Wasted the opportunity when the slaps and laughs started. Should have told him he killed his daughter, then walked him out into another room for the reveal with an intervention or something.
