I should add one thing though, that when a company chooses someone to represent them, they should make sure they have the right company/people representing them. If they chose that company to represent them, and that company is doing a bad job, then that reflects a poor decision for Canon.

Anyways, thank you all for the input. Hey, this taught me a lesson... don't rely on emails... I think I'm not the only one who relies on them as well.

Thanks again :)

That sucks, I had a similar thing happen with my Sony digital camera.

LCD developed a crack a corner of the screen, I was overly careful with it and never dropped it, didn't matter to them, a crack to them means that there is no situation where a defect could have caused it and it's my fault. After I researched it a bit I found a number of others having the same exact issue I did, but still Sony wouldn't cover it and wanted to charge me nearly $300 to have it replaced.

I said screw that and just ordered a replacement LCD from Part Store and replaced it myself for less than half what they would have charged me.

Good chance that site will have the flash you need also.

Your title is misleading and you are a noob for emailing instead of calling. Oh, also post updates on your original post.

I would write a letter to canon and provide documentation if you can. That means asking the shop that accused you of damaging it to provide official paperwork of the estimate and reason it's not covered under warranty.

I mean in addition to sending it to canon and getting it repaired... just so they know about a shady vendor.
