Don't Believe The Hype...New Elections Maps

The most interesting maps are towards the bottom, where they don't use just red or blue, but include gradiations between the colors to account for varying percentages for/against a particular candidate.

It's not about population density. It's about how much each county was leaning to one candidate or the other.

We can correct for this by making use of a cartogram, a map in which the sizes of states have been rescaled according to their population. That is, states are drawn with a size proportional not to their sheer topographic acreage -- which has little to do with politics -- but to the number of their inhabitants...

Sigh... I hope the rationilization, excuses, and 'but we almost won'-isms don't keep going on for the next 4 years...

I guess the dems want to keep losing these states. Fine by me.

Well, that would make you a citizen in good standing.

If you think insulting those you need votes from is good idea, keep doing it.

I saw that in the 'Opinion' section in Sunday's LA Times

It's really just the media (with the exception of liberal newspapers like the LA Times and NY Times) that says the everyone is so Republican.

Like on Election Night, I saw an NBC graphic that said that young voters were still only taking up 20% of the total vote, same as 2000. THEY FOROGT TO MENTION THAT MORE PEOPLE VOTED IN THIS ELECTION!

Funny how they won't show maps like this on the big media. It's obvious they want to perpetuate the myth Bush has a mandate. And BTW, who says Alabama isn't densely populated? It's population density is above the average for the US as a whole.

Obviously, judging by the results of election 2004, it won't make a difference either way. So I'll just call them what they are. They won't change no matter what Bush does or doesn't do. Why worry about losing voters who won't let the facts get in the way of their judgement either way?

2006 and 2008 should be a great year for the dems them. Sounds like yall have completely given up.

Meh, this is just further proof of Democrats trying to distort America. 😉

Whatever. You people are so hell bent on proving you can beat those liberal elitists that it won't make a bit of difference either way.

PS Love that 'yall' talk. Is that a code word you people use? Like a secret handshake or something?

Your stereotype makes you sound rather., ....., elite.

When you find yourself using phrases like, " you people," maybe you should just click on the "cancel" button.

Thanks, but I'll excercise my freedom of speech and relate the results of election 2004 as I see fit.
