Well the fuel economy isnt killing me but I dont really need a van for what I do. If I can sell it and get a small car than so be it.

Also, I want to stay away from the more performance oriented Mustangs and Camaros as I would be tempted to put too much money into it.



All I need is an economy car. I like the look of the older Economy cars like the chevette and pinto, call me crazy. Safety isnt really a concern as I dont plan on getting hit. 🙂

Yes, but the older economy cars were absolute crap. Unreliable, unsafe, underpowered, and overall unlikeable. Sure, most of the cars built in the last ten years are unapologetically ugly, but they're otherwise better in every way.

If you want an old car that's guaranteed to give you a headache, at least get an old E30 BMW or - if you can find one - the Mercedes-Benz E190 Cosworth. They're in the same category of financial quagmire as the Pinto, but at least the German cars are fun to drive.

Or - if you really don't need the interior space - you can pick up a Mazda Miata. Fun to drive, very economical, and, unlike almost all other small sports cars, cheap to maintain: it shares its' engines with contemporary Mazda econoboxes.
