Wait, your company is a major part of emergency management and you don't have a backup generator? Or UPSs of some kind?
Lets say our region suffers a severe damaging earthquake.
How does one design rebuild and repair several thousand roads and bridges without CAD computers today? Do engineers actually remember how to draft and calculate by textbook and by hand?
Do we actually know how to issue hauling permits for wide and heavy loads without our databases and fax machines?
How will our managers know how to conduct business without their precious cell phones and blackberries?
Hell can we even pay for such things without our SAP encumberance programs?
I have a UPS's in my building...
I have Backup generators...
I even have a sattelite phone straight to the governors office and PEMA.
that doesnt mean that
a)We have fuel available for more than a few days.
b)All the infastructure to provide telecomunications, and network/internet services to our other locations (such as the centralized server farm) have power.
c)Network, Telecommunications, and Mobile communications, Infastructure is still standing and not destroyed.
d)The central server farm itself is still standing and not destroyed.
