Donavan McNabb is the best QB in the NFL right now

Dante is the best at helping the other team's defensive stats this year. 😉

Kind of 1a and 1b.

McNabb and T.O, highest yard numbers in the NFL right now for QB and reciever. A deadly package indeed.

The upcoming game against the Cowboys should be damn interesting.

Based on how McNabb playedagaisnt the Chiefs yesterday, I'd say he's pretty damn good ATM. Especially considering his injuries. I expected KC to get a W, and had they not utterly fallen apart after Johnsons fumble, they were well on the way, but McNabb fought back.

he's definately right up there.. is he the best though? i dunno.. being a qb is more than just the numbers... joe montana is ranked 8 in most passing yards with 40,551 yards.. does that mean vinny testaverde (ranked 6 with 44,475) or Warren moon (ranked 4th with 49,325) or even brett farve (ranked 3rd with 49,734) are better than him? nope.. not a chance.. joe is argueably the best quarterback ever to play the game.. it isn't all in numbers

He's close, but I have to see the full season play out before I say for sure. The guy who set the record for TDs in a season LAST YEAR is still in the league, so that automatically brings your statement into question.

Oh, and... RECORD.

Manning is simply about the numbers.

If you discount yesterday's game, Brady would be #1 easily. He simply produces wins.

Yeah, it had nothing to do with the 20 other players, or coaches. It's Brady who produces the wins. All by himself.

i dont' think brady was ever a great qb.. really good qb yes.. it's the team that wins though.. they lost a lot of players and both their coordinators in the off season.. look at the difference a year makes..

the mcnabb to TO combo is just devastating.. even when they're fighting like grade school children they are better than any other wr/qb combo in the league.. at this point, even better than manning/harrison

manning isn't goign to put up the numbers that he did last season.. i dont' think anyone's gonan do that for a while.. the colts are gonna lean more on their defense this year which is a much much improved defense than last year.. they're going to the bowl..

Who has the lowest career INT rate of any active QB?

Mcnab and (I believe) he is first or second all time

That's quite a stat.

I agree - but what would be a better team:

McNabb/Owens
Manning/Owens

I think Manning is more capable of hitting Owens then potentially any other QB in the game. If Manning can't get him the ball, I don't think any QB would have been able to in the same situation.

McNabb does offer a second threat with his ability to run, but I think Manning's ability to find the open receiver is even more potent. After all most RB and WR are better at running than McNabb and if Manning hits them then they get their chance.

Donovan is great because he is a great leader and usually puts his team in position to win. That said, he's probably the 2nd-3rd best in the game right now.

i'll admit owens is better than harrison but there is not that much disparity

but you can't compare pinkston, greg lewis or LJ smith to stokely or reggie wayne

i dont think mcnabb is the #1 QB in the NFL but if you think Peyton outclasses McNabb you're way off

the two are head to head with mcnabb right behind

I am a huge Mcnab fan and like to keep him high on a pedestal, but I am old enough to have seen Joe Montana play when the game was on the line. He made Tom Brady look like a weak kneed coward with a rubber band arm and no will to win.

Ask ANY person who was a football fan in the 70's and 80's the following question, and they will all give you the same answer:

There are 2:00 left in the superbowl. Your team is down by 6 points. The ball is on your own 5 yard line. You can pick any quarterback to win the game for you. Who do you choose?

edit: in fact, I am going to start a poll with just this question

Hands down - Montana.

Stokley and Wayne are NOT that good. Manning makes them better.

As long as Peyton Manning keeps on choking during the playoffs, he can't never be the best. But this year is the year for Manning, the Colts now have a decent defense to go all the way.

they don't have to be that good to outclass pinkston, lewis, LJ smith, or freddy mitchell (gone i know)
i still stand by Colts recievers > Eagles receivers as a whole
