She did sign the waiver though that allowed the diplomatic mission without the proper security. I assume that either this decision is somewhat pro forma - obviously a political appointee who pleads incompetence in her own direct duties cannot be THE expert on security - or else there is some classified shens that she and Obama thought justified the risk. When the shit hit the fan, she likely had no strings left to pull. Somebody screwed up royally to have an ambassador dangling like that, in a non-hardened building with inadequate security, but I doubt it was Clinton. Normally the military and the CIA have quick reaction forces ready to move within an hour and larger forces poised within four to twenty-four hours. My own wild ass guess is that everyone assumed the nearby CIA base would provide security if needed. Supposed the CIA base had a much larger force until right before the attack, and with their customary secrecy and turf wars, probably no one in State knew that the CIA base was practically empty.

I'm not saying that Hillary is perfect by any means, but Trump is the worst POS to ever run for POTUS on a major party ticket, and you know that's true.
