Amid calls by the GOP for Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s resignation, one Republican is offering an unorthodox choice for a potential replacement.

“Ask Donald Trump to be Treasury secretary,” Mike Huckabee said on Fox News Channel.

The former Arkansas governor elaborated: “Have Donald Trump take the job for 90 days. It’s a game changer.”

“Right now, the president needs something that is truly a game changer, and he doesn’t have that in Geithner,” Huckabee said.

Huckabee, who also hosts a weekly show on Fox, told the program’s hosts that Obama needed to make major changes in his administration to show he was serious about an economic recovery.

“He needs to go,” Huckabee said of Geithner. “President Obama needs to have him walk the plank, not necessarily because it’s going to change the White House policy, but because in politics optics in everything. And right now, the president needs to show a sense of taking command and doing things differently.”

Well, I guess it's good that Huckabee chose not to run for President. Seriously, Donald Trump? Warren Buffet maybe because he knows how to make money. But Trump is clueless and I wouldn't be shocked if I'm worth more actual money than he is.

GE: just give us some time, we are in the process of shifting all factories in China and rest of the workforce to India, we already won self sustained "islands" there. Till then, send us the rent check for the roads..

I can see one of the brainless GOP hopefuls like Bachmann, Cain or Palin making that statement, but Huckabee? It must be a joke or a feeble attempt to draw attention to his trainwreck of a TV show.

I love the whole "Show some leadership" talking point. Its in the GOP koolaid to keep bringing this up over and over again without putting any credible facts behind it. Should Obama created the legislation for the debt ceiling deal or should have congress, you know the legislative branch? Obama is a dictator, but shows no leadership...., its all the Obama administrations fault, but they are showing no leadership.... Obama was the only one who proposed a grand deal that would have kept US credit rating. GOP balked at closing tax loopholes.
