Wasn't it just yesterday that Trump told the states to "call your own shots" and the federal government would be right behind you? I thought the Republican subversion of Democratic states handling would be subtle and plausibly deniable.

Someone close to him figured out a way he could exploit the crisis for the purposes of igniting a culture war within these states, and between these states. Trump won by exploiting cultural differences, and that's been the key to his survival, and to the survival of the tea-party-on-steroids 2020 version of the GOP. There's no reversing this trend. It will be carried to its natural, logical, final conclusion on this trajectory: an attempt to subvert democracy using any means they can get away with. We've seen his authoritarian tendencies, but we've yet to see those tendencies on full display during an existential crisis. Here we are. It looks like he's calling for people to revolt against their stay-at-home orders. Any violence is on him.

Yes, this appears to be the strategy for Trump to extricate him from any blame. The noise/chaos will be deafening, with very little truth leaking out. Basically, the same strategy he's used quite successfully with the chuds among us since day 1.

He's prophetic "I take no responsibility"

"Today people started losing their jobs because of Crazy Nancy Pelosi, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and the Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats, who should immediately come back to Washington and approve legislation to help families in America. End your ENDLESS VACATION!"

If the Senate comes back from vacation then he won't get the recess appointments that were so critical on Wednesday. He's got the attention span of a goldfish.

Here's a quid pro quo.
Trump Calls For Reopening America’s Gyms Day After Call With SoulCycle’s Owner

Any coincidence that this guy is a high profile supporter to the orange menace?

"He was one of 27 high-dollar donors to pro-Trump groups who made the list. Since the 2016 presidential campaign,
he’s donated about $300,000 to the Republican National Committee. "

Even a dummy can see that gyms are probably the worst of just about anything to reopen first with all
the sweating and multiple people touching all the different equipment.

This guy says it best in the article.
"“Gyms are like a petri dish,” said Laurence Gostin, the director of the O’Neill Institute for National and Global
Health Law at Georgetown University. “People are close to one another, they’re sweating, they’re coughing and
sneezing, they’re touching multiple surfaces, they’re sharing equipment, they’re indoors. Literally all of the
heightened risk factors for COVID transmission are all entwined together in a gym.” "

With no good answer for his lost month of coronavirus preparation, Trump snaps at another female reporter

Watch as another reporter, Weijia Jiang, asks the orange menace why nothing was done in Feb, if he knew that CV would
turn into a pandemic. I mean shit, this asshole keeps talking about his china-non-ban from 1-31-20 and
then tries to ask her questions about how many people died in Jan. He flat out refuses to talk about February
because he didn't do anything.

She presses with the questions that he refuses to answer and asks her to
"Nice and easy. Nice and easy. Just relax. " then when she presses again, with questions that he refuses to answer
he says "Keep your voice down, please. " Her voice was the same, he was just wanting her to shut up.

The video is in the linked article.

Now this is going to piss the orange menace off.

Bipartisan Senate report says 2017 intel assessment about Russian interference and Trump was accurate

""In all the interviews of those who drafted and prepared the (assessment), the Committee heard consistently that analysts
were under no politically motivated pressure to reach specific conclusions," the report says. "All analysts ... were free to debate,
object to content, and assess confidence levels."

That conclusion is significant, because it comes as a prosecutor appointed by Attorney General William Barr is said to
be examining Brennan's role in the assessment
, which was written based on intelligence gathered by the CIA, the FBI and
the National Security Agency, among others."

Think this will dissuade billybarr or the orange menace?

Here's the report if anyone wants to read it.

The Dems should make a new movie for the end of the year - Smokey and the Bandit 3 - but instead of carrying bottles of Coors and trying to evade the Feds - they can be carrying PPE.
