Playing Devil's Advocate here...

If Bill Clinton hosted his own cable news program, I wonder what kind of ratings he would get?

what would it be rated? would it be a public access program where he sticks things into people? (cigars, etc)

or you mean more like a "serious" current events talking heads thing?

I really think that it would be an awesome show. Clinton was a masterful public speaker, and has a very laid back attitude. I really think that he would make a very good talkshow host irregardless of political slant. I believe you'd have a very evenly mixed listening audience. Clinton actually was more moderate than he was full blown liberal.

I somewhat agree, but it wouldn't do any huge rating performances though. It would be 'blah' at best. He is a good speaker and laid back, but that's about it. I can't imagine him doing any shows on topics worthwhile.

What? The guy SERVED TWO TERMS in one of (if not) the highest ranking position IN THE WORLD. I absolutely fail to realize how he couldn't add any light to current events.

I could see it being like the man show but with a democratic spin. I can imagine every episode opening with the Bill Clinton Show pole dancers.

I'd bet that he'd probably pull a 12+ rating for the first few shows, just because people would be curious to see what the ex-prez was up to. After that, his ratings would probably drop pretty quickly, and the network would probably cancel the show because they could afford to pay him the $500,000 a show apperance fee that he'd demand in his contract! 🙂

And I agree, bob- probably a realistic assumption. BUT! On topic here... FOX News is truly making CNN their beeotch these days.

Unless it's a show about how to score with skanky Arkansas chicks or chubby interns I doubt most people would watch it. Most people know that the guy was nothing more than a windbag who changed his opinion according to the poll numbers so I doubt many would tune in to say what he said about any given matter.

Amen. Love FoxNews, only news station I watch. Espically love Fox and Friends. Mancow rocks!!!

Anyone see the shouting match between Brian Kilmeade and Janeane Garofalo about a week ago? If not, go here to watch it.

She RIPPED Fox News because it was #1 in "cable news", and scoffed at it like it was nothing.

Or does that say non conservative-ideologues have enough sense not to watch sh!tball cable info-tainment "news" programs parading around as journalism, and favor doing something truly educational\enlightening\ or at least mildly entertaining?

There's a little Devil's advocate for ya.

I like C-span more. You actually get to hear the points of view as opposed to sticking 4 peope who yell over each other in 5 minute sound bites.

Maybe the liberals were reading books...

Note, O'Reilly and Hannity and Colmes are both entertainment shows, so much more than any of MSNBC or CNN's shows.

It would probably be really high, but then again his competition would be the Playboy channel so it's hard to tell.

Don't kid yourself, it worked for Rush Limbaugh.
