MSNBC president Erik Sorenson said in a statement: 'We're proud of the program, and we're disappointed that the show was not able to attract the viewership we had hoped for and expected. We thank Phil and his staff for their dedication, commitment and passion. They worked extremely hard to deliver the best possible show night in and night out and for that they have our deepest appreciation.'

I wonder why MSNBC did this - Donahue beat Hardball in the ratings on a regular basis. Why isn't Hardball being cancelled??

Good! He's an elitist phony, way long in the tooth and totally irrelevant.
Not unrelated is today's news that the Liberal Party in New York State is no longer.

really?

hmm, going to have to look that one up

the article on CNN compares his ratings to OReily on Fox, not Hardball, so i don't know , i like Chris Matthews though, not Donahue

I watched him when he had Neal Boortz on a couple of times. Really bad.

I guess life was easier for him when there were only 3 broadcast channels, virtually no cable, and no Oprah.

On average Donahue had about 400,000 viewers and O'Reilly had like 1.5 million. O'Reilly owned Donahue. Not to say quantity of viewers means it is a better show but in this case it The Factor is a better show.

I really don't mind watching a "news/talk/whatever" show even if it leans a little left, but he sucked. Good riddance.

yeah, I thought the Donahue Show (used to be up against the Oprah time slot) was canceled like 10 years ago?

I would've liked to have seen those episodes. I used to listen to Boortz's show all the time and enjoyed it. I would've LOVED to see him butt heads with Donahue.

haha donahue sucked bigtime...now they need to can nachman...chris matthews is good cause he cuts through the crap...and snl did a good satire of him last week.

Good. His show sucked.

Phil: (to guest): how do you feel about current event blahblahblah
Guest: presents logical and well presented argument
Phil: OMG OH NO!!!! AIE!!!!!!!! You instrument of evil! How could you say such a thing!?!?!?!?
Guest: uhhhh, settle down old man.
Phil: We MUST go to a commercial break, when we return I will show you how the word Conservative ='s Devil.

Again, I ask - Why hasn't Chris Matthews' show been cancelled??
Liberal media my ass....
Edit:
Oh ya, right wing bigot and former TV salesman Mike Savage gets his own show on MSNBC. Will his show get canned after 7 months of outperforming Hardball?? (That is, if MSNBC as a network is still around.....)
