The Travel agency I work for is trying to get travelquest.com or travelquest.net. currently neither of them even have a place holder and have been registered for over 6 yrs. The travel agency is called Travel Quest, and has been in business since 1995. I'm curious if the arbitration services actually work. I tried conatcting one of the owners and after a few weeks He replied with 5k. just curious if we should try one arbitration places like this or try and negotiate with the owner. The phone number on the whois is either disconnected or noone EVER answers(can't remember which).

AFAIK, there is nothingto dispute, someon owns the domain and wants 5k for it, pay up is your only option. AFAIK there isnt anything wrong with "domain squatting"

If your employer has a registered trademark for Travel Quest (not just applied for) and the other person / company has never operated a travel agency or travel website then you might have a case.

Of course establishing all that could cost well over $5K at trademark-lawyer hourly rates.

Yep, it's like you registering Pepsi.com but Pepsi Co owns the registered trademark to that name.

In other words, good luck.
