domain security policy vs. domain controller security policy

right click on the links goto properties and read the comments.

Or just think about their names really hard.

"domain" - "security policy"
"domain controller" - "security policy"

Let me elaborate a bit more. If I set my audit settings at the domain securuity policy level, do I still need to set them at the domain controller security policy level? Since the domain security policy should propogate to the domain, which includes the domain controllers.

good question.

By default the Domain Controllers OU inherits the Default Domain Group and Security Policies, as long as this behavior has not been altered setting a group or security policy at the domain level will propogate to objects in the Domain controllers OU. So in short, Yes.
