I'm trying to remove a child domain through wan and the wan link went down and now when I reconnect to try, it says can't find the global catalog or a suitable domain.. is there a manual want to delete the child domain from the main master ?
 
Do you mean the removal of the child domain was unsucessful?
You can use NTDSUTIL with the metadatacleanup>object command to do the deed.
Do some reading, its a pretty involved tool.
 
did that.. the child is fully off the master but when you drop the domain bar down, it's still there... I check dcdiags and netdiag, etc.. everything comes up good... took care of dns entry.. even check the adsi editor...

1 problem.., the child domain, is there a way to get it into a member ? It wont run dcpromo again... i broke the link but if i have to format it as last resort...
