I'm hoping to get an advice on the following situation:
Two years ago I registered a domain name with GetaDomain.com (operated at that time by enic). Without my knowledge and consent, they sold registrar rights of the non-.cc names to RegisterNamesHere, which appears to be a shady fly-by-night operation. They want $20 for a one-year renewal. I told them to get lost (in a more polite manner, of course), and tried to transfer my domain to a more reputable and feature-rich outfit. Every time I attempt the transfer, I'm getting a message that the domain name is locked by the current register (RegisterNamesHere.com), and despite my repeated email to unlock the domain (and assurences that is is unlocked) I still can't transfer my domain. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I thought that as a lawful owner of that domain I should be free to register it with whomever I wanted.
