So, my dad registered a domain a couple years ago, back when microsoft small business was offering free domains through office live or something.
anyway, he has no idea which email address he used to register, he hasn't used hotmail in ages. So although I know we are the registrants (could see his name in whois),we have no way to access the account to request a transfer.
the domain itself expired on November 18th, 2009, and switched to the "pendingDelete" status on the 29th of January. From what I understand, this lasts 5 days, so it should be available for registering on the 2nd of February.
Does it make sense to use a backordering service? or just to refresh namecheap all day until it shows up as available? For what it's worth, i doubt there are too many other people interested in the domain (my dad's name). he already owns the .net and .org TLDs.
Thanks,
Vivan
