Dolby Virtual Speaker and Dolby Headphone?

Recently, when looking for Surround Sound Headphones, I came across Dolby Headphone and Virtual Speaker, they give the illusion of surround sound, and frankly, I can't hear the difference between it and real surround sound. The only problem is, besides a few movies, I can't find it anywhere. Is there anyway to get it to work on my games? It is just software right? If it matters, my onboard audio is a Realtek ALC883, and I'm running windows vista 32-bit.
