What would be the best way to stretch these muscles so one can do the splits? I'd like to be able to kick higher and this is the only real way to do it.

Would the best way to do it is to go down a little at a time everyday or is it be impossible for alot of ppl to even do? This maybe a stupid question but I would like to know.

If you went down too fast I guess it could be possible that your balls hit the ground at too high of a velocity and become bruised?

Stretch everyday and gradually work your way into a compete split. Just curious, are you trying to put both legs out or one leg in front of you and one leg beghind you?

Go down into the splits (side or front) as far as you can. Then press "inward" with your legs for five seconds or so, then relax. Press, relax. Repeat.

Anyone can do it. It just takes time.

I'd like to be able to do it both ways if its possible. I know it will take some time and pain :D. Are you doing damage by doing stuff like this or does it just stretch the muscles?

Don't 'bounce' and you should be fine.

sit down on the floor with your legs spread apart as wide as possible. Then reach forwards slowly, this will stretch your muscles with less strain than actually doing the splits. It is less tiresome and you can relax when you are in too much pain, do it when watching tv or even studying.

First warm up...then stretch a lot. Do different kinds of splits for as long as you can...push but don't bounce, stop if it hurts, keep moving around to stay warm. After that, you'll need some PNF - proprietary neuromuscular facilitation (get somebody to push down on you while you're doing the splits).

Alternatively, do a front or side kick and have somebody hold your foot/leg when your leg is at full extension. Then have them raise your leg until you can't take it anymore...very important to keep proper form while doing this..no cheating.

It's very difficult to get to a full split on your own. When I was in tae kwon do, I could get about an inch or so from a full split. That was more than enough to do everything I needed to while sparring.
