Wow. What a bunch of cat haters. If these were human children, I think this topic would go another way. Oh...but these are just cats....

Humans created this cat condition. It's our fault for deciding to domesticate them and expecting personal relationships with animals is a decidedly selfish thing. Cats serve no functional role in the ecosystem at this point and it's a product of our own making. Saving stray cats is not heroic nor is it helpful in any way. It simply perpetuates the problem. Calling animal control and paying to have then neutered/spayed is the only thing you can do. Dumping them in a "nice neighborhood" is a dickhead move.

i would say no unless you're taking the time to get them all fixed
just what you need more strays propagating inside the safe neighborhoods where they will kill all the wildlife
What? The bird/mouse population? I don't think you guys understand my town/neighborhood. I've never seen so many stray cats in my life until I lived here. Lots of seniors who love the company and put out food, as I do. The one's that I've "adopted", I'm getting fixed. I can only afford to do so much. I have a huge fuzzy black cat that showed up and now lives on my porch. He's the largest cat I've ever seen, and he loves me like I love him. Just because he was stray, should I have turned away? I think not. He's fat (as hell) and happy, and keeps the mice away. Really, you guys need to quit looking at numbers and think of the animals. Yes, I wish I could do away with stray cats, but we can't. They're here, and I can't help but feel sorry for them and feed them. I think people should care just as much as if these were human children.
The reason that town has more stray cats than you have ever seen is because you and thr old people who feed them. Instead of having 20 strays in town with 5 dying every year you have saved enough that you will have 200 with 50 dead every year. The reason you dont have a no kill is that they are expensive. If you want to work towards a new organization you might have better luck finding a local vet who will help with a neuter and release program.
Already working with some people to get this done. In the meantime, we can't just turn our backs on the strays. They are beautiful animals, not just numbers.

OK, look into the eyes of a stray hungry kitty, wanting a friend. Tell me its a dickhead move. These aren't numbers, these are living animals needing a friend and a provider. Try looking at one in the eye and then think that.

Ok..let me get this straight. I've moved some cats from a place where they'll most likely get runover to my neighborhood where people are happy to feed them, and I'm bad for this? Really?

I'm helping just by them not getting run over by cars.

Dude you are mental. I love cats, I have 5 in my home, but stray cats are destructive vermin.

Alot of local vets will spay/neuter strays for free. This should be your first course of action to prevent them from spawning hundreds more strays.

THEY ARE NOT FERAL. For fucks sake, do you guys even know what that means? Try getting within 10 feet of a true feral cat, good luck. Live on a TX ranch, you'll see true feral cats. Getting near one is about as likely as getting close to a bobcat. And I'm a moron for feeding strays? How heartless are you. Yes, this keeps the problem going, but they are here, and alive, and hungry, and I'm not heartless. I do what I can given the situation, I can only afford to spay so many. You need to think about how they see life, as we caused their being here. It's not their fault that their species is overpopulated. They are innocent creatures, and we should do what we can for the ones already living. BoomerD, try having some compassion.
