dealine april 15 yes?

---

shady06,

Yes. Now, if you have more tax related questions, please post them in the sticky tax thread in OT. A couple of our knowledgable members have volunteered to monitor this thread and help our members. This will also reduce the clutter of multiple tax threads in OT.

Thanks for understanding. :)

Go to IRS.gov and use one of the links to free online e-filing. You can use TurboTax on-line for free IF you start from the IRS website.

Honestly, if you qualify for the 1040EZ, all you need to do is a few simple additions and subtractions. Heck, you probably qualify to call them on the phone and do it that way (the phone computer will figure out the tax for you). It is almost as simple as just typing in your social security number and waiting. A 5 year old could do it.

I did my own. Cost me 38 cents for the stamp, about 2 cents for the envelope, and ~5 cents for the paper. $653 return :p

April 15th is for Federal <everyone in the U.S>.

Every state has its own deadline. In Louisiana, it is May 15th.

OP, if you only need the EZ form, you can do it by yourself and save you some money. It is very easy if you are a student and don't have much incomes/expenses/deductibles.

I did my taxes by myself back when I was in college and still doing it now by myself even I have more income and expenses.

I just looked it up. You qualify for telefile on all years that you qualify for the 1040EZ except your first year. Sorry to get your hopes up. But still it is just a few boxes to fill in with numbers and directions of exactly what to do.

I'm just hoping you don't waste your money paying someone to do your taxes when it just takes a few minutes for a simple 1040EZ. No reason to shell out $50+ (for a CPA) or $20+ (for tax software) or $5+ (what some websites may charge).

What a waste...

needed to get them done quickly, not much time because of school + other things, and not 100% sure how to do them myself yet :p

I'll figure it out by next year

If you know how to add and subtract, you can do your own taxes.
