Resolution: 800x600 on low quality settings is just as slow as 1650x1050 on High settings.

I have updated all of my drivers. Seems like I get about 1-2FPS the way it moves.

What is wrong? Why does it run so slow? Bioshock was just as slow, but HL2, DOD:S and other games run perfectly even on the highest quality settings.

Have you depressed the Turbo Button on the front bezel of your PC? haha j/k :)

Seriously though, that's a really old card. Why don't you check around and see what other people are getting on that card before you assume there's a problem. good luck!

Sorry, you computer is just too old. You need a new CPU and a new video card. 3GB of ram will do nothing.

I suggest looking into some video cards in the $200 range and an Intel Core2 CPU with new Ram. You will also need a new power supply for all this.

FWIW, I had almost the same config as you, but was able to economize my way to a much nicer system. If you have access to a Frys, I bought an Athlon X2 4800+combo for $150. Memory is a steal, that shouldn't be a problem. I was able to snag an nVidia 8600gt for less than $100 AR. The 8600 was a card I bought just to get me by, but it played Bioshock GREAT at 1024x768. I probably could have bumped up the res, but it looked fine where it was...

That card tops at SM 2.0 doesn't it? Are you using the SM 2.0 community patch for Bioshock?
