116 in a 70. I thought I was in the middle of nowhere, but I was just outside Johnson City, TX. $251 for speeds 25mph or more over limit. But here's the thing. The ticket says my car is blue! My car is not blue! Does this mean I can contest it?

I would fight it either way. Most of the time you can get the fine and points reduced...

I contested a similar ticket because the officer's badge was crooked and he forgot to put his belt on that day.

He has every right to fight it, but the odds of him being successful are pretty slim.

115 would get you arrested here.

Does it matter what I said to the officer? If it does, that's fine because all I said was that I wasn't paying attention to the speed.

actually...good point. yes you can.

The judge is going to laugh at you if that is your excuse...but you can indeed contest it.

"Ummm..officer...the ticket says my car is blue. Obviously it isn't blue. It is LIGHT blue."

Bah.. That's blue.

I could maybe see if your car was red, or yellow.. or maybe even black. But you don't really expect the cop to write down Fuschia(for example), do you?

Just pay the ticket. :p

Actually, there is a criteria that most tickets have to meet and if anything is complete or illegible, the ticket can be dismissed. I don't think color is one of them, but laws vary from state to state. I got a parking ticket a few weeks ago and it was dismissed. The year registration expiration date was illegible. I took a picture of the registration stick on the windshield and brought it to court. The judge was pretty impressed with the picture and dismissed it on the spot. I guess he figured I would have went in there to argue instead of having the picture talk for me...

Yes. I'm just saying, some states have criteria for their tickets... :)
