Reports are coming in from Israel that President Obama's limousine, often called "The Beast," has broken down. You might be wondering how the most protected vehicle in the world could break down on an overseas visit, and the answer would surprise you. There's a bit of discrepancy over what exactly happened (and the Secret Service is living up to its name with the details, but apparently somebody filled The Beast with diesel fuel instead of gasoline gasoline instead of diesel, according to The Times of Israel. While we don't know exactly what type of engine powers the presidential limo, because the vehicle's based on a heavy-duty truck chassis, the fact that it's powered by a diesel motor doesn't surprise us. As the report goes...

This statement, it makes no sense.

By their logic, Abrams tanks must never break. MECHANICAL FAILURE?! NO FREAKING WAY; I HAVE ARMOR AND SABOT ROUNDS!

Anyhow, the fuel thing seems sketchy. I would imagine the same people are generally in charge of the car? I.e. no FNG to make this mistake? Also I don't think they're just randomly pulling over for fuel...probably got drums of it on the plane that transports it...

I don't know about the cars, but I know Air Force One has very protected fuel, i.e. if the flight goes into a non-US military base, they bring tankers full of fuel with them on a C-5. I would think the fuel for the cars would be well protected too, which I think would preclude someone from using whatever random can they found. Although, accidents do happen.
