Doh! I screwed up.. how to patch things up w/ a girl..?

First, I know this is a terrible place to ask for relationship advice. I don't care. I just want to see what some members here have to say. 🙂

Anyway, been dating this girl for 3 weeks.. Last saw her on Sunday -- I haven't done anything stupid, except for leaving a message last night saying "I'd really like to see you tonight" or something to that extent.. And now that I think about it, it kind of implied a bit of desperation and since I haven't heard from her for 3 days I don't know if she's just really busy or if I scared her off.

Anyone know what I can do / say to make her not think I'm a total desperate goober?

You probably didn't scare her off - if she likes you, she's happy you left the message, if she doesn't, then you didn't do any harm, she's just acting like she would've anyway. Maybe joke around about it a little next time you see her and find out which it is, but don't lose sleep over it. 🙂

same situation for me; except instead of 'saying', i kissed her 🙁 she hasnt talked to me for months :'(


dont let the same thing happen to you, if she's a great person and you want to at least be friends with her, communication is the key 🙂

Good advice. You also want to avoid leaving the "please, I really, really need to see you, you don't know how much you mean to me since you're not like all the other girls!!!" message tomorrow night...
 
hmmm a really tough line to walk. I'd basically agree with HotChic though, don't worry about it, unless she starts complaining to you, it's not a big deal. And if you're not calling her every day, there's really nothing for her to complain about, unless she's a psycho killer like the females in this blatant thread referral

Thanks for the support, HotChic. I feel a bit better now. I just left that message yesterday and also said I'll call her tonight, which I did (left another message but still no call back). I'm guessing she's just busy. :|

Well, now she knows you're still interested, so give it a break and let her have a chance to get back to you. Sit back and bite your nails or something relaxing like that. 🙂
 
Don't leave her too many messages, then you will start coming off as desperate. Let her call you now, two is enough IMHO.

If I don't hear from her by Friday though I'll have to give her another call 'coz we were supposed to go out to a concert on Saturday and she still wasn't sure if she could get her shift covered.

 
Oh, btw, here's the *exact* chain of events. I don't think I did anything wrong:

Tues 7pm: Call, my cell phone freaks out and cuts me off at the beginning of message
7:30: Get home, call from landline, finish leaving message saying that I wanted to see her that night.
<< missed call from her @ 8:30 >>
11PM: Get home, see that she called. Left message asking if she tried to leave a message b/c my voice mail has been broken this week. Said to call me back when she got in or I'd just call Wed. nite.

7PM: Call, get voicemail, didn't feel like leaving message, hang up.
8:45: Call, leave message saying I was hoping I could see her tonight, call me back, voicemail's fixed.

*in retrospect, I think I'm just being paranoid. I hate it. But thanks you guys for your support. 🙂

Well, as I recall from your previous thread, you ARE a "totally desperate goober". However, dont give up hope. She very well could be busy, and/or didnt get the message. I know my roommate often doesnt pass messages on to me. So, after more than 24 hours after reading this, give her another call. I know you're anxious, BUT, you do not want to come off as the "totally desperate goober" that you are. So, wait a while. Take a cold shower, go exercise, etc, etc. IIRC, you did say that the attraction wasnt all sexual, and I'm not implying that it is all sexual attraction. However, the point is to get your mind off her for a day. Then, call her up again. If she answers the phone, great. If not, but another person answers, ask if she is there, if she is and is "available", still great. My advice is to not leave a message on the answering machine if it picks up. Then you cant call back for another day or two.

I think he should have waited 6 days to call his beaufitul baby. The problem is, he's money, and he doesn't even know it. He's lke this bear, and she's like a little bunny rabbit.

Yeah, now is trhe time to wait 🙂 Try not to think about it or make assumptions about what she is thinking. Your imagination can convince you of things that are quite unrealistic.
