<< damm you caught on, i guess we will have to drag you off and have to listen to GWB give a speech. that should make you loose your mind >>

LOL, I always figured cops would tend to like bush more than gore though. What do I know ;)

Go to court if the cop fails to show up its a freebie. If not then say you were going like 75 or a few miles over only. Btw, is it possible if the cop catches you speeding makes the u-turn and can't locate you, maybe you should of ran :)

What? Cops can't tag you while they're moving too. First, i don't think the gun is connected to their speedometer, and second,, isn't it kinda dangerous driving an automobile and aiming your radar gun around (and looking at the speeds on the radar gun)?

I don't know for sure how it works in the US, but i know up here in Canada (well, i should say 5 yrs ago, not too sure what it is now), it wasn't possible to tag you if they were moving.

I'm not sure exactly how it works, but there's a counting trick that cops can use to figure out how fast you were going while they are going in the opposite direction. It has something to do with time and how far you go within that time. It's kind of a guesstamite, but I think it's how they do it.

Getting nabbed for a cops guesstamite? I would definitely argue that fine then.

Anyways, from somebody who has received 3 tickets and beaten all 3 of them...all you have to do is show up in court. If you show up, and the cop doesn't, you win. How else do you think those traffic lawyers win? Do you really think they argue on your behalf? Do you think they have some sort of connection to waive traffic fines? Show up, and argue your case. If he's not there, you don't even have to say a single word, the fine will be thrown out.

If he is there, though, and you lose, you could wind up paying court costs along with the ticket.

Well, if he's there then you argue that he couldn't have possibly gotten an accurate reading if he was heading in the opposite direction. I can't believe that a cop's guesstimate is good enough for a fine.

You will look like a complete fool if you argue that in court. Since before I was born, they have used a little device called MOVING radar. The main beam shoots straight ahead and measures closing speed (Cop going 60 + you going 90 = closing speed of 150 MPH). A secondary beam shoots at an angle to the side to measure the cop's speed. The radar equipment automatically subtracts the the reading from the secondary beam from the closing speed measured by the main beam to get a reading of your speed (150 - 60 = 90 MPH) that stands up perfectly well in court.

Rule of thumb for speed when I was 16: Double the posted speed limit. Rule of thumb now that I'm 50: travel the posted speed limit +/- 5 mph and concentrate on the sound produced by my high-end car stereo (dinosaur rock rulez!)

Well, if you read my other posts you'll realize i asked if that was possible. Of course if there's such a thing as moving radar then you wouldn't argue that. Just show up for court... all my tickets have been thrown out, and everybody i ever told to show up in court had the same thing happened to them as well.
