manually updated my Droid to 2.1 today. Seems to run smoother and possibly faster. Also installed the HTC IME keyboard, love it. It replaced the standard droid keyboard.

I also manually updated. It does seem faster and my battery life has improved...unless I use live wallpapers, then it's a bit worse.
I thought they were going to add 5/7/9 home screen option? Oh well, I'll stick with HelixLauncher.

do you really need 7 home screens?, i use dxtop and i don't have enough shit to fully populate 4 let alone 7

Do I need 7 home screens? Fuck no, but this operating system supports them and I will use them so I want them. I don't care if you cannot fill 4 screens. That's your problem, not mine.

As of this morning, Android 2.1 is being pushed to my Droid.
Will let you know how it works out. Its a 15 meg download and 3G speeds in my area suck. According to the notice page, it adds pinch zoom and support for Yahoo mail. Thats about all.
I'm sure theres more but I will have to discover it for myself.
OK, it worked.
The only thing I care about is pinch zoom, and now that its here I am so freaking happy. Works much better than the Pre or iPhone. A lot snappier. I like.
Also my Yahoo mail works from the mail app now, which is a heck of a lot better than logging in through the web page.

Cant find the Puzzle Blox live wallpaper in the Marketplace.
Did find the Galaxy one already installed and its pretty damn sweet! Will have some fun with this for a day, then check my battery usage to see how taxing it is.
OK, looks like the Smoke will be my fave for today, with Grass tomorrow.

Also, the Gallery app has changed a lot. It lets you slide your pics all over the place and also has thumbnails of everything you have in your Picasa account.
