Dog Torturer Caught

What happened to this dog has been in the local news for the last couple of months. Every time I hear the story, it makes me angry and sick to my stomach. I'm glad they were able to track down who did it and arrest him.

Original Story - Authorities seek person who tortured a dog found in Quincy

Today - Bail set at $500,000 for man accused of torturing dog in Quincy

Further veterinary examination showed extensive injuries, including starvation, a right eye stab wound, and two deep nose injuries. The dog’s tongue had been split, she had multiple skull fractures in various stages of healing, had crush fractures to her spine, injuries to her front and back legs, shoulder injuries, and fractured ribs.

As the injuries were read, several people sobbed openly in the courtroom.

According to Cusick, all the injuries would be extremely painful and had occurred two to four weeks before the dog was found.

As an owner of 2 dogs, I'm sorry but I find something a little wrong with the community butt-sniffing of "OMG DOG TORTURE!!! HANG HIM!!!" yet - 3 minutes later "OMG ITS A COCKROACH QUICK STOMP ITS GUTS ALL OVER THE FLOOR!!!"

what the roach got would be a step up from what the dog got.

Ok... well during summer when there is mass june bugs everywhere - I was bored and there was a nail on the table. I implanted it in him and watched as he tried to walk around. Am I a dog killer?

I'm not saying one is right or wrong, I'm just trying to grasp everyone's thought process for why "OMG this animal is cute, torturing him is a sin" and "OMG this animal is UGLY, STOMP IT DEAD, KILL IT!!"

It's not cute vs. ugly, it's that many people here have had relationships with dogs. Dogs which emote. Dogs which become a part of your family.

I'm not sure many have had that type of relationships with a cockroach.

Edit: I assume you are just trolling, but I gave you a genuine response just in case.

No but you are a sick fuck. If you can't figure out the difference between stomping a pest to instant death vs impaling it and watching it struggle as it dies let alone a higher order mammal then you are just a sick fuck.

oh so you mean you don't take your cockroaches for walks, play fetch with them, take them on family vacations, let them lick your face, let them sleep in your bed, and nuder them?

shit does that mean i'm weird?

First step to a psychopath serial killer 🙁

Not trolling in all honesty - just looking for an open discussion.

Why is YOUR ability to have a relationship with a dog mean that others aren't reasonably able to have a relationship with others? You know - there are plenty that do that with snakes. Inyet, I'm sure you would chop one up ASAP the instant you find one inside or near your home.

How are you not a cruel vile disgusting person for that?

He didn't say his.

That's a bit of an assumption.

How are you not a cruel vile disgusting person for that?

For what, something which you are assuming he'd do which he never expressed he would? Are we even on subject any more?

Who has implied this other than you?

Pests vs companions, sadism vs sympathy. Let's say you find mice in your house. You kill them quickly (hopefully) with traps. Any moderately balanced adult shouldn't lack the empathy to understand that the beating, torture and malicious killing of an animal, of any kind, is an inexcusable abomination.

Per your scenario, if someone took a hatchet to a garter snake in their yard, I'd look at them like they were irrational assholes. If they took a hatchet to a rattlesnake, that's understandable. If they trapped and tortured a rattlesnake to death, that's fucked up.
