What time in the mornings do you let your dogs out to do their duty?

I'm just trying to understand why my neighbor thinks it's ok to let theirs out every day at 7am (including weekends and holidays) even though it barks when let out. It's not a small dog bark either. I've already left a note once.

I do not care to be woken up at 7am, simple as that. Otherwise I don't mind it barking, although it is excessive throughout the day.

For me it's about 5:00 in the morning. My dog doesn't bark though unless someone is in our yard.

I don't let my dog out in the morning. He usually doesn't even get up from his bed. He's lazy and needs to find a job.

They let the dog out at 9 or 10. By 7am it needs to be let out again. So either they let it out at 12 or 1 (which i doubt they want to do), or they wake up early and let it out.

7am is actually not bad for a dog, my ex's would need to be let out at around 5-5:30 almost every day.

We take ours out on leashes around 0500 on weekdays, 0630 ish on weekends. We don't just turn them loose in our backyard to bark and raise hell and annoy our neighbors.

My wife lets hers out when before she leaves for work, so it is probably about 6am.

The dogs get let out when I get up and come downstairs. On weekdays that is around 8 AM. On weekends could be anywhere from 9 AM to 11:30, depending on what I did the night before.

So the barking just because it's let out is not normal, right?

I just don't understand inconsiderate people.

Depends on the dog. Some dogs will bark at anything when they are outside. Other dogs won't bark at anything.

Normally between 7 AM and 8 AM. She will rarely wake me up earlier (like 4 AM or 5 AM) and I'll let her out then.

6am, 430pm (home from work), 9pm.

Dog doesn't bark though unless a cat or other little delicious creature happens to pass by.

I thought this would be a warning to let them know that their houses smell like dog. Because they do. :colbert:

I let the dog out usually when I wake up at around 6 am. However, he doesn't usually bark so it's a non-issue. If he does, usually due to spotting random people, we call him right back in.

Our neighbor lets their dog out at different times of the day but the barking is incessant and they just leave him out there barking.

Doggy door = they go out whenever they want, 24 hours of the day. If they're barking, they're barking at something... that they should be barking at.

Mine wakes up around 6:30am every morning. Feed the cats, let the dog out to pee, feed the dog, dog goes out to poop, then let into the backyard. So...6:45am-ish.

Mine doesn't bark for no reason though.

Uhh, I let my dog out when it's convenient for me...which is generally 6am on weekdays and 10am on weekends. But I'm lucky to have dogs that can control themselves. They don't really care. Nor do they bark incessantly.

dog > you

People have schedules and dogs need to be taken care of; the loser in that equation is you. Not that I am defending people that let their dogs bark. I hate dogs.

I'm sensing a "get off my lawn" Clint Eastwood feeling. Which would be ok if the neighbor's dog did it on someone else's lawn.

I suggest getting a white sound machine.
Or move the bedroom to another part of the house if possible.
But a sound machine really helps drown out sound.
It could be worse.
Your local airport could welcome in the national guard station, and they love to test run their big jets starting at 7am and 8am and 9am and 10am etc etc.
