Dog keeps messing up my yard, anyway to deter it?

besides putting up a fence, is there like any other way to stop dogs/pets from entering your lawn? Is there like some sort of powder I can spread across that would repel them?
thanks

Seriously though, are these pets that belong to your neighbors? Or are they just strays?

If they are neighbor's pets, then I would address the neighbor direct and ask that they contain the animals better.

Grab the dog and take it to the humane society. Owners won't like having to pay cash to get the dog back so they might start using a leash.

Boundary is an outdoor dog and cat repellent. It emits an odor that is normal to humans, but very offensive to pets. Once you have applied boundary your cats and dogs will avoid the treated area completely. Boundary comes in an easy to use shaker can and is effective immediately.

cool, thanks for the link. going to try that out.

Walk around to all the neighbors with dogs and talk to them. The offender might actually be reasonable about fixing the problem. Probably not, but you never know. If it continues, park a webcam where it'll capture the dog/dogs on film, then present evidence to the owner and tell them you will call animal control if they continue to let their dog run at large. Are they crapping in your yard, or digging holes too?

..I've seen motion detecting lawn sprinklers. They detect a dog/cat/bigfoot in the area and turn the hose on em.
