The Samoyed is known as the smiling dog breed. I've never met one, but is supposed to be friendly.

My german shepherd always looks like he's smiling. My wife and I call it his "permasmile"

I know someone who raises/trains helper dogs, all labs. She had one dog that failed finishing school because it 'smiled' too much. The dog was just being friendly, but a lot people would mistake it for a growling and aggressive posture.
