whoops.. thought this was the stock market thread.

no, big pharma is raping everybody.
started w/Bush Jr giving them $Billions$ with Medicare Part D and the govt paying for meds for the elderly.
plus medicare CANT negotiate drug prices. WTF?!?!
Obama gave away the right to negotiate drug prices as well....the very thing that pissed off liberals so much about Bush's Medicare Part D. Oh, the ironing.

now big pharma is paying companies that make generics to not make generics of their drugs that are coming off patent. thus forcing everyone to still pay their inflated prices. 😡
<how is that even legal??? >
I don't know...it pisses me off too.

I tried to buy a plan on healthcare.gov in January of 2015.

I elected for a Bronze plan which would have paid 60% and I would have paid 40%.

For my family of four (two adults and two minor children) with basically no health issues the cost of the plan would have been approximately $12,000, or $1,000 per month.

My employer at the time offered health insurance which I had, but I had a job offer which paid approximately $20,000 more per year after taxes as a 1099 contractor, and I would have to buy my own insurance.

Ultimately I did not take the contract job because of the cost of the plan.

Oh, and for 2016, the company I stayed with where I had insurance - my plan was canceled by United because it was no longer cost effective - United cited increased costs due to new Federal regulations in a letter I have from them, addressed to me. My insurance approximately doubled in cost from $2,600/year to $4,900/year for LESS coverage with my new lower plan.

Sounds like a shitty job? My price did not go up last year and I pay about $270 a month for Medical/Dental/Vision. In network deductible for family is $500 out of network $1900.

Mr. Murphy, an engineer in Sulphur Springs, Tex., estimates that under the Affordable Care Act, he will face a penalty of $1,800 for going uninsured in 2016.

Zero fucks given. Good... And when he shows up in an ambulance at an ER, I hope they leave him at the curb unless he can prove he can pay the $XX,XXX bill first.

Low six figures with a fortune 100, you tell me? What is shitty?

My old plan was fantastic - United chose to end the plan, not my employer.

I'm also amused that the fact that Obamacare is completely unfordable for the average person and has caused private insurance plans to dry up is being morphed into a personal attack against me. Hilarious.

I'm where the work is. Would it be more noble for me to be in Nebraska making $10 and not gone to college?

I am the only income in my home. The absolute cheapest house in my city is this one:

But, I'm sure that doesn't mean anything to a failure like you.

And a half-million dollar home. Let me get my violin.

Edit: It's the middle of the day in CA. Shouldn't you be too busy barely scraping by to be posting on the internet?

He's doing his part and can't blame him for bitching about it when the system screws him. What do you do for a living and what are you doing to pay your fair share? Let's take a good look at who you are and your contributions to society.

I'm a violinist. Sad, sad songs about the poor and downtrodden are my contributions.

Tell us about yourself...I want to see the basis of your self-righteous arrogance in all its glory. Don't be shy, let's get real here.

OK, for real. I'm a scientist. Specializing in alternative energy sources. I'm working on an engine that runs on one of the most abundant resources on the planet. Conservative persecution complex. It seems to be a truly limitless source of energy.

No surprise...I didn't think you were capable of such honesty.

I've already got him on ignore. 🙂

He's a a troll (and thinks I'm conservative?) Hilarious. He can't stand that his precious Obamacare is crap. Maybe he can't hear what others are saying with Obama's dick in his ear.

Since I'm on ignore and all could someone else point out he might want to address his sig and, um, the words he posts, if he doesn't want people thinking he's conservative? Or a jerk? TIA.

In other words, your calculated income would have exceeded $90+K/ yr at the time so you didn't qualify for any subsidy.
