That's the kind of attitude that will keep you hurting. If you always think there's someone better for your girl, you'll never hold onto them.

I made some mistakes and got dumped by my first g/f, and she's totally in love with her new b/f, but I know I'm still way better than he could ever be in every way.

I dated a girl for a year or so, we were extremely close... she started dating a guy a week and a half after we broke up... she became engaged to him within a month or so. I was really tempted to be hurt, but then I realized something, and it's something you should realize, too...

She's the problem, not you. My gf had major issues, that eventually made this new guy break up with her. Bets are, this new guy'll do the same thing for her.

There's no better way of showing how deep and passionate your relationship was and how much it meant to her than for her to quickly hook up with someone else, huh. Well, it's something that you simply have to deal with. If you truely love her, all you can do is stand back and let her do her thing. Yeah it hurts, but that might be part of her plan. To hurt you -or see how much you still care by your reaction to her dating someone else. And, don't worry about it. She's not in love with the other guy. Love takes time to develop. It's enfatuation at best.

Nik: I was going to say pretty much the same thing. Love is a pretty deep emotion, and it doesn't come easily. However, the "appearance" of love, the infatuation and exhilaration, does.

Good point. Going through things like this are practically a right-of-passage in a man's life. You either stumble through it time and time again, or you learn, see it coming, and know what to do with yourself when (not if) it happens. Everybody goes through it, UberDave; it's perfectly natural -although it shouldn't be. But life just isn't fair, and you've got to make the best of it. But don't do the same thing she did to you... show her that your relationship meant something.
