It's basically just like a warm Jupiter, maybe a few of them.

What's the doomsday discussion on this brown dwarf? Having a brown dwarf orbiting a larger star and sharing our solar system is not all that special. Well, kind of cool actually, to have one that's basically in our cosmic backyard. It's not like brown dwarfs have a history of breaking the laws of physics and divebombing planets after deciding to drop out of a perfectly good orbit, and short of that, what kind of doomsday scenario would a brown dwarf play into?

If there's a brown dwarf in our solar system, it's lukewarm at best (compared to other Brown Dwarfs, at least), and probably not much larger than Jupiter.

Keep in mind a brown dwarf was discovered recently, with an overage thermal output hovering around a balmy 100ºC.

It's not the heat that worries me if it does exists. It's that it's gravitational field effects objects in our solar system. Such as the asteroid belt and the comets in the Oort cloud. If it has a huge orbit and it comes through the solar system every thousand or million years it could explain the mass extinctions that have occurred through out earths history.

Its a 3600 year orbit of the sun . The dwarf itself is not that scary but this dwarf has Planets . Fear nebiru its a planet 3 times bigger than jupiter. Its coming at us . 3600 years ago it caused the great flood among other things. When the dwarf starts heading away from our Sun than you can relax a bit. This time tho its coming into our system at the same time a 26.000 year event as we enter the magnitic field of the Black hole at center of our galaxy .

People have been claiming the world will end since some guy built a big boat and predicted a flood, through a group of cult followers who worshipped a guy crucified by the Romans, and up through a few decades back when a group of people gathered on a hill to wait for the end of the world (now known as the 7th day adventists.)
