I heard a lot of people saying one Linux distribution is better over another, some are more user friendly while some has more software bundles, and some are good in this and that. At least they make some senses to some extend as different distributors trying to put more stuff to make it more attractive.
However it really confuse me when people saying some Linux is more toward "Debian" standard, GNU/Linux and whatever term they trying to distinguish it from the "standard(?)". Can anyone explain what is the different between the Debian and non-Debian Linux?? I thought RedHat, Corel, Calnora or other distro that come with kernel 2.4 (for example) should have the identical engine? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks
