does your vid card cost more than your CPU?

Well back when I bought my computer...my vidcard (geforce2 pro) was $132 and my cpu (tbird 1.2) was $124...so yeah, hehe.

Actually no... when I bought my A64 3200+, the price was $270. When I bought by Radeon 9800PRO, I payed $250.

By the way...definitely wrong forum...this should be in general hardware.

mine was... thats cause I got it from the retail thing. $200 for AMD 64 3200 and ASUS K8V SE Deluxe, and $420 for ATI x800pro VIVO

No. My most expensive video card is a Quadro FX 1100 , but the CPUs in that box are a pair of Xeon 2.66s, and I'm sure I paid more for those than I did for the video card (keep in mind that this was about a year ago when 2.66GHz Xeons would have been consisdered fairly speedy). The card did cost more than *one* of the CPUs, though.

mobile barton : $77 shipped IIRC
refurb matrox p650 : around $100 shipped IIRC so yes, the vid card did cost more for me

CPU: $182 w/ MB (Athlon 64 2800+ and Abit K8T800 or something like that)
Vidcard: $149 (Matrox G450, bought when I had a 500K6-2)

So maybe 🙂
