Wasn't Notes great until MS came out with their integrated system? It was the ultimate sharing software. And I guess when you plunk down millions on dominos you don't really want to switch.

Just my opinion. I think brevity is clarity. I hate mails that are more than 2 paragraphs.

I think that just about says it all.

Pithy is good. I've been thinking about reducing my vocabulary to just acronyms and alpha-numeric codes.

Makes me wonder how bad Lotus Notes is when all these people praise Outlook over Notes. :Q LOL :D

Who uses Notes?

Along with the "Yakko must be a Unix admin..."

these are my thoughts exactly...

Our Exchange admin is to busy along with 5 other guys doing damage control and being generally both shell shocked and paranoid to engage in conversation.

Lotus notes... be afraid, very afreaid.. shudder

Stupid Lotus Notes refuses to follow any of the standard Windows conventions (unless they have seen the light since I quit having to mess with it). Simple little things like F5 for refresh, highlighting blocks of messages with shift and left click etc. They won't even change the install program to setup.exe from install.exe and stick a 16 bit registration reminder program running on a workstation.

well, the Notes server admins send us stuff like this:

To: Lotus Mail Users in Sacramento

From: GS Lotus Administrators

Subject: Dwindling Disk Space on Local Sacramento Servers

(big snip)

:)

REAL administrators don't have time to write something that long. His manager probably wrote it for him ;)

Yes, because we all know how cool it is to have to install security patches on your server every two weeks to keep them from being compromised

Windows is cute and all, but I want a REAL OS running on MY servers! :D

I tend to cut down most of my replies to 'OK.'

Have, at times, send 'RTFM' to people too. And 'Works now', 'Works fine for me, let me know if it gives problems again', 'Try again now' and stuff like that.

here is another unix admin thing. They refuse to talk on the phone. If they have the chance to email you, rather than call you when you are at your desk, they will take it. I do not think they have any social skills whatsoever.
