Does your office have a lockbox on the thermostat? What temperature?

I'm in new home sales in Florida, so I understand my company is trying to save a buck wherever they can.

We've got 10 model homes in our area so it makes sense to control the A/C, but the new temperatures are much warmer than I am used to.

I had my model home's A/C set to 73 degrees during the day, and 78 at night. It's now set to 78 degrees during the day, 84 at night.

Maybe that is comfortable for some of you, but damn, it's going to be quite a comfort adjustment to go from 73 to 78.

Of course there is always using a paperclip to change the settings.

HOLY CRAP it just took me about 2 minutes with a paper clip to actually unlock the whole box. Sweetness

The one by my desk is set at 74°

It creeps up and I fix it.

No. But ours does not work anyway. Well, at least not for this part of the building. So I have a space heater.

Too many cold blooded people in my office. They would complain if we set the thermostat too low. We compromised to have it @ 74 and if they get cold they could put on an extra layer of clothes.

How are digital thermostats that operate on Celsius set up, in general?
I wouldn't imagine you only have full degrees like we Fahrenheit folk do. But what are the increments?

It's the same way in my office; however the thermostat's set to 76 in the winter and 75 in the summer. I would say that 50% of the people in my office still run a space heater every single day of the year.

I don't know, but I'll wear short sleeves and have my ceiling fan on high while 50+% of the office wears a sweater/coat with their space heater on.

There are also two very loud-mouthed employees who will bitch all day if they're the slightest bit cold. Management very much adheres to the addage, "The squeakiest wheel gets the oil".

I was recently in a training room with 1 thrmostat and was quite small. I am usually warm throughout the day, but everybody else is always cold. They would jack up the heat to 80+ while still wearing blankets and I would turn it down to 70, we fought over it all training lol

edit: at my desk though its kept low 70s year round and is great
