When i was on an Avmed group plan they covered everything.... Now im on a BCBS individual plan and they only seem to cover me when im sick or dying.... All yearly physicals, blood tests, and just routine visits are 100% out of pocket expense for me now...

Does yours cover it?

yeah, there's like a $200 yearly deductible first I think.

See i have a $250 deductable, but nothing preventive goes towards it 🙁

Even though my cholesterol is though the roof and my doctor told me to go to a nutritionist, BCBS won't cover it.

nope health net doesnt cover jack.. but then i am paying like 50/mo for PPO. Though its got a 1500deductible and generic only copay of 20..

i guess it is the best i can afford at this moment..

250 is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cheap LOL

No offense but working in a hospital that is on the very low end.On average the usual is around 1000-2000
and what ur plan covers depends on your plan.Your plan is prolly a 250 CYD, a 500 Out of Pocket with an 90% coinsurance or maybe 100% + copay one of the 2.Yes preventive maintenance isnt a big thing with BCBS outside of NYC (since they have to offer it in NYC) but if you go to the doctor a few times a year works out better.

Now if you only go once a year yes it sucks cuz u pay 250 and dont ever go back hehe...Just look at their different plans to see what fits you best PPO, HMO, or HMO open access and maybe if u get it throught your job they might offer an EPO.HMO will usually pay the most BUT you can only go so many places and no out of state.HMO Open is better but < $ and same for PPO can go anywhere in the USA that is contracted with BCBS but a little more $.So maybe get a PPO with ZERO CYD and maybe a 90/10 coins should be like this:

Office Visit - 182
Routine Blood - 250
Total = 432 - say 100 in adjustments for having BCBS (contract adjustments)

and u pay basically 32$ and some change.....

I have great insurance. My doctor asked for blood test all time. I basically see my doctor once ever 3 months for a 3 month check up, and I get what I assume to be 4 different blood test since they get 4 viles of blood each time. I don't pay a dime for the blood test. I have also have had CT scans and ultrasounds done to make sure nothing is wrong, and again I paid not 1 dime. I needed to have surgery once, and my insurance company paid for 100% of it. The only co-pay I know of is $75/$20 for emergency care, $20 for primary doctor visit, and $10/$20 for drugs. There is no co-payment when I see a specialist or have any test done. About deductible, I have no deductible. I also have Health-Net. Strange how different TheGoodGuy and my health plan are from the same company.

I'm with BCBS and we just have a $20 co-pay. after that, everything is covered. It has more to do with what pla within BCBS they decided to sign the employees up for. Every Health Insurance provider has many different plans that employers can choose from.

Unfortunatly (or fortunatly depending on how you look at it) I no longer have health coverage.
Way too expensive for the joke "benefits" it provides.

Aetna US Healthcare, they cover everything, all i pay is 15$ co-pay for each individual visit, not follow ups.
i get my statement, x-rays 600, blook 450, you owe.... 0$
