last time it peeled off was about 7-8 years ago! maybe this is my secret to have smoothy hands! :D
my hands have never been thick like other people.

Mine did this a few times last summer in Europe. That was the only time it has ever happened to me. I pretty much lost an entire layer on my finger tips with both hands, I was a bit scared at first but as it got better I decided it was nothing.

the second pic looks bad because without flash and it was kinda hard to operate with one hand.

Nah, no real change in softness. I think it was a weather thing as that was the first time I have ever been to Europe, specifically the Med, and I am used to very dry air.

Actually, fappage would moisten the hand, preventing peeling.

Ignoring that, I don't have any problem with skin peeling on my hands, but I also use lotion on a daily basis (and no, not for THAT!) :p

yes, mine does...due to a rash I devlope at work. The skin on my ears also peels off once in a while.

I had that happen about 9 years ago and have never had it happen since. Don't know what causes it and don't know what heals it.
